Jennifer D’Angelo Joins New Jersey Innovation Institute to Lead Healthcare Division

April 20, 2020, Newark, NJ – New Jersey Innovation Institute’s (NJII) announced today that Jennifer D’Angelo will join NJII as a Vice President and General Manager, effective May 4th. She will lead the Healthcare division.

D’Angelo is currently the senior vice president and chief information officer at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, NJ. She heads cybersecurity, HIPAA security and privacy, Information Services, Clinical Informatics and Telecommunications at the 1070-bed facility. Earlier in her career, she held a similar role at Christian Health Care Center, in Wyckoff, NJ.

At NJII, a corporation of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, D’Angelo will oversee the division that improved the health of nearly 14 million patients and drove $180 million in cost savings through its Garden Practice Transformation Network, NJII also helped establish and continues to run the New Jersey Health Information Network (NJHIN) on behalf of the New Jersey Department of Health. The NJHIN provides a secure infrastructure for the exchange of patient data by connecting all 71 in-state hospitals and transmitting real-time admission, discharge and transfer alerts to physicians across the state. Bergen New Bridge Medical Center was the first hospital to connect to the NJHIN.

D’Angelo will also manage Healthcare Innovation Solutions (HCIS) the Healthcare Division’s for-profit subsidiary which has helped thousands of physicians across the country navigate the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Merit-Based Incentive Payment Program (MIPS) and guided hospitals through the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) Program.
