About the Instructor: Phil Crowley
Phil Crowley is a lawyer focused on helping startup and emerging technology and biotechnology companies become more successful. Phil is a veteran of 32 years in the Johnson & Johnson Law Department. While there, he handled mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial work, licensing and other complex agreements. He also had experience in dealing with FDA regulatory law issues for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics and biotech products. He is a member of the board of directors of Shine Analytics Limited, an Irish startup with an innovative software-as-a-service platform for in-house counsel and an officer of its U.S. affiliate. Phil holds a B.S. in Physics from Stevens Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Applied Physics from Harvard University and a J.D. from the Columbia Law School. He has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Stevens Institute of Technology since 1993 and has worked for many years on the Research Enterprise and Technology Commercialization Committee of the Board. This is the committee focused on stimulating academic innovation and converting appropriate technologies into commercializable products. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Phil was in private law practice in New York in the mergers and acquisitions and securities law areas.
