About Program

We connect health IT innovators with healthcare executives, providers, and consumers in the Greater Newark Region. We’re grant funded by JPMorgan Chase & Co. small business forward program and currently in year 3 of our mult-year commitment! Our cluster development includes 2000+ healthcare professionals with 12 industry partners and 15 major events in 2014 & 2015. Come to our next session to learn more about our Health IT program:

Twice each year we run an executive networking & learning program for a select group of qualifying Health IT CEOs. These are the programs that we offer.

Judith is responsible for managing the university’s Office of Technology Development and creates programs and policies focusing on patent creation, intellectual property valuation, strategic use and protection of IP assets. She is also involved with economic development, having responsibilities for management of the university’s high technology business accelerator/incubator, the Enterprise Development Center, and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center. She is on the Board of Advisors to the NJIT Murray Women’s Center, is a Board member of the NJ – Israel Commission, and serves on the Board of the New Jersey Entrepreneurs Network and Einstein’s Alley.

Prior to joining NJIT, Judith was a founding member of Licenz Group, an IP consulting firm, and was the IP and Compliance Vice President for Agere Systems, the semiconductor subsidiary of Lucent Technologies. She has a BS and MS in Mathematics from the University of Illinois and an MBA in International Business from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, as well as an honorary doctorate from the Universidad Inca Garcilaso de la Vega (UIGV) in Lima, Peru. She is a frequent speaker on the topic of intellectual property and strategic alliances and is an active member of the Licensing Executives Society. She received the NJIT Overseers award for service in 2009, was recognized in 2012 as the “Garden State Woman of the Year” in the professional services category, and in 2015 was named one of the “Best 50 Women in Business” by NJBIZ.com.

Michael had an international business career before joining NJIT’s School of Management as assistant professor of finance. He spent his last Wall Street years at Bear Stearns as senior managing director of the emerging markets fixed income business. Earlier stints included positions of increasing responsibility at Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb and Salomon Brothers, where he worked in the Government Arbitrage group with John Meriwether. Upon leaving Wall Street, Ehrlich started FineStar Imaging LLC, a small technology company that specialized in document production and management. He sold FineStar in 2007. Today, along with teaching, Ehrlich participates in NJIT’s small business incubator program, the Enterprise Development Center (EDC). Ehrlich, who belongs to the New York Angels, works with start-up companies.

Travis is an entrepreneur, startup mentor, and marketing & sales specialist with prior experience in both Fortune 500 companies and technology startups. In addition to managing the Health IT Connections Program, he works with private clients on early-stage strategy and product development and is also an Adjunct Professor at The New School—Parsons where he teaches Entrepreneurship. Travis was previously Co-Founder of Industry Networks, a media/education startup, and an Adjunct Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology. Prior to that he was Executive Director of New Jersey’s first technology accelerator, Techlaunch, which he helped build and oversee the launch of 19 new ventures, and held various sales and marketing positions for UBS and Xerox. When not chasing his two young children, he volunteers time mentoring startups and facilitating strategic connections.

Tamara joined the New Jersey Innovation Institute following her graduation from Baruch College in NYC. She plays an integral role in managing logistics and marketing for the Health IT Connections Program. Prior to graduating, Tamara interned with Nike and served as a member of Congressman Donald Payne, Jr.’s communications team. She currently resides in Newark.
